About Me

I grew up in Jacksonville, FL as the quietest kid in a giant Cuban and Puerto Rican family. I grew up surrounded by love and support, and I will always be thankful for that. For years I obsessed over shows like Mobile Suit Gundam, Dragon Ball Z, and Power Rangers. I built model kits, board games, and villain of the week designs. Once I got old enough to grasp Strategy games, I never looked back. Games like Crusader Kings, Black and White, and Rome: Total War shaped how I perceived games as a device for telling near infinite but deeply personal stories.

All that and more were what shaped me into the Game Designer I am now.

Associate Designer

My second shipped Madden I took on greater responsibilities, becoming Product Owner over several features within Madden NFL 15's Connected Franchise Mode. For Madden NFL 15, my two major focuses were Game Prep and the Branching Storylines System. For Game Prep, I made over 150 variations of our practice scenarios for every playable position through scripting and xml. Branching Storylines is a system that dynamically creates events based around our college players that can have a significant impact on how they play. Not only did I handle the technical aspects of the feature through scripting, I also wrote the majority of the audio and text that accompanied the system. Other roles included updating our user interface, general tuning of the mode, and debugging/fixing a lot of bugs.

Assistant Design Intern

I began work on my first professional title as an intern assisting with the design of one of Madden NFL 25's epic features, Owner Mode. Over time I took on more responsibilities and eventually converted from an intern, to a full time employee. My first major task was completely overhauling our User Interface for Connected Franchise Mode. To do this, I had to review our 80~ screens and determine their priority and placement in the new interface. I also handled the necessary user interface scripting to arrange these screens, when they would appear, and bubble up any live data that was available for me to use. Other roles included organizing and keeping our design documents up to date in our team Wiki (Confluence).

Battle Fortress Tortoise (PC)

Creator & Lead Designer

Battle Fortress Tortoise follows a clan of gnomes who live aboard a large tortoise named Argo in the land of Tortuga. The world is exists at a colossal scale, much too large and dangerous for the gnomes to live peacefully on the ground level. Most clans live in large tree house style villages but await the day one of the large ancient beasts pass by on their way to the Breeding Grounds. These tortoises migrate once every millennium to a central location where they breed then depart shortly after.

Nemesis to both the gnomes and tortoises, tribes of Hyenas scatter the land and will stop at nothing to bring down the large animals. This common enemy has brought the gnomes and tortoises together to form a pact. A symbiotic relationship is formed between the two extremely different species to protect one another from the dangers of Tortuga. The Journey will be relentless.
